- 1X2
- A three-way betting market where you pick either the home team to win, the away team to win, or the match ending in a draw.
- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, multiplying the odds.
- Age Verification
- A check to confirm that a player is legally old enough to gamble, usually by providing ID documents.
- AML
- Anti-Money Laundering – regulations that require betting sites to detect and report suspicious financial activities.
- Arbitrage Betting
- Placing bets on all possible outcomes of an event across different bookmakers to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap given to a team to level the playing field, eliminating the draw option and offering adjusted odds.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for betting, separate from everyday finances.
- Bet Builder
- A feature that lets you combine different markets from the same match into one custom wager.
- Bet Slip
- A digital record that lists the selections, odds, and stake for a wager before it is confirmed.
- Bookmaker Margin
- The built-in advantage a bookmaker includes in the odds, ensuring they make a profit over the long term.
- Cash Out
- A tool that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Hedging
- Betting on the opposite outcome of an existing bet to reduce potential loss or secure a guaranteed profit.
- In-Play
- Betting that takes place while a match is already in progress, with odds that update in real time.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula used to determine the optimal size of a bet relative to your perceived edge.
- KYC
- Know Your Customer – the process of verifying a player's identity to prevent fraud and ensure legal compliance.
- Lay Bet
- A bet that a specific outcome will NOT happen, offered on betting exchanges where you act as the bookmaker.
- Market Movement
- Changes in odds that occur as more bets are placed or new information (like injuries) becomes available.
- Odds
- The numerical representation of the likelihood of an outcome, determining how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Price Boost
